Our tour is The Mount Hood Loop/Columbia Gorge. Take in the breathtaking view from Crown Point Vista House located on the Historic Scenic Highway high above the Columbia River. This tour passes several waterfalls, including Multnomah Falls with a vertical drop of 620 feet. Observe the unusual rock formations on your way to visit Bonneville Dam, the first federal dam on the Columbia River. Visit the interpretive center and the fish hatchery where you learn of the life cycle of the salmon as well as see an 80 year old Sturgeon fish, descendant of pre-historic eras. Pass through the Hood River, known for wind surfing and lush fruit orchards. Enjoy the beautiful alpine scenery while you make your way to Timberline Lodge. The National Historic Landmark features year round downhill skiing, and is the frequent training site of the U.S. Olympic Ski Team. The tour is $56 and all tips, taxes and transportation are included.
  • Our Saturday night banquet will be a sit down dinner. There are two choices of entrees: Slow Roasted Prime Rib, which comes with creamed horseradish, accompanied by roasted garlic mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. priced at $35. The second choice is Chicken Cordon Bleu which comes with hollandaise sauce, accompanied by rice pilaf and seasonal vegetables. Price is $30. All meals come with your choice of salad (green salad, Caesar salad, Monarch salad with glazed walnuts or the Northwest Pear salad.) I would ask that all that are coming to please bring something for a raffle prize. Remember that most of the folks will be flying in, so limit the size please. We will have a nice hospitality room also. It will be about the same size as the one we had in San Francisco.

We will be selling Mispillion hats and Mispillion polo shirts also. We have a few Mispillion ship patches (52-53 and 67-74) left for those who want to purchase one. We are trying to get the mid to late 50's patches made and hope to have some by reunion time. If you can’t make it and still want a Mispillion hat or shirt, please contact Steve. On a different note, we had a shipmate, Leo Hance, fall ill at the Rapid City reunion. Leo spent several weeks in the hospital in Rapid City, then was taken back to Vermont by an air ambulance.
