This is a photo of the miniature lifesaving ring of the USS Mispillion. This ring is 8" in diameter. It is a replica of one which would have been on the ship. We will be raffling off two of these rings at the reunion. Tickets will be $1 each or 6 for $5. Joyce Stephens, wife of Henry Stephens has the raffle tickets and will be bringing them with her. Folks can go ahead and buy the tickets now from me, and then pick them up at the reunion. I will be keeping a list of those who have purchased tickets.

Hello fellow shipmates:

50 years ago the Navy created (6) Neosho Class Oilers. Their size, biggest for their time, was needed to keep a task force fueled on special missions without being refueled them self's. A few years later, (8) T3 type tankers were Jumboized for the same reason.

I have put together a book about these 14 ships and the publisher released it on June 23, 2004. It has a lot of detail about all of them and includes info about 93 ports around the world.
